Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). If your air fryer requires preheating, do so now.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup buffalo wing sauce, egg, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
Place the meatballs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding; you may need to cook in batches.
Air fry for 12-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Flip the meatballs halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.
While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a bowl, combine the remaining 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce and melted butter (if using).
Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the bowl with the buffalo sauce and toss to coat evenly.
Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping, and garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
For extra crispy meatballs, lightly spray them with cooking oil before air frying.
Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to your preferred level of spiciness.
Meatballs can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before cooking.
