Description

Imagine sinking your teeth into a slice of incredibly tender brisket, infused with a deep, smoky flavor that hints at coffee and chili. This slow-cooked brisket recipe transforms a traditionally tougher cut of meat into a melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece. The magic begins with a carefully crafted spice rub, where the subtle bitterness of finely ground coffee dances with the warmth of chili, creating a complex and inviting aroma that fills your kitchen as it cooks.

The coffee grounds, when combined with the other spices, create a beautiful crust. The brisket is slow-cooked to perfection, allowing the connective tissues to break down and the flavors to meld together harmoniously. The long cooking time ensures that every strand of meat is infused with the savory spice blend, resulting in a depth of flavor that is simply irresistible.

As it simmers, the brisket becomes incredibly tender, practically falling apart at the touch of a fork. The aroma alone is enough to make your mouth water, but the true delight comes with the first bite. The brisket boasts a rich, smoky flavor with a gentle kick of chili and a subtle, earthy note from the coffee.

The slow cooking process renders the fat, basting the meat from within and ensuring that each slice is incredibly juicy and succulent. The contrast between the slightly crispy, spice-rubbed exterior and the fork-tender interior is a textural dream. It's a dish that's both hearty and comforting, perfect for a weekend gathering or a cozy weeknight meal.

For a larger crowd, the recipe can easily be doubled. Just remember to adjust the cooking time accordingly, ensuring that the brisket is cooked until it reaches that perfect level of tenderness. To serve, slice the brisket against the grain to maximize tenderness and juiciness.

This simple step ensures that each slice is as easy to eat as it is flavorful. The result is a truly unforgettable culinary experience.

Instructions

    1.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine all of the spices in a bowl and mix together. Grind the coffee on a fine setting and add it to the bowl.
    2.
Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket and place in a baking dish fat-side down. Roast the brisket in the oven (fat-side down) for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and turn the oven down to 300 degrees. Allow the meat to rest for 20 minutes or so or until the pyrex starts to cool down.
    3.
Flip the brisket over and add the broth (or water) to the bottom of the baking dish u00bd cup at a time. The liquid should just cover the bottom of the baking dish, so use more or less depending on the size of your dish. Tightly cover the baking dish with foil and place back into the oven for 2.5-3 hours or until it can easily be shredded or sliced. Remove from the oven and allow to rest 10-15 minutes before slicing against the grain. Add a small amount of water or broth to the baking dish and stir with a wooden spoon to get the seasoned bits off of the bottom. Pour the sauce over the sliced brisket.
