Description

Imagine biting into a perfectly cooked pork chop, its surface seared to a beautiful golden brown, giving way to a tender and juicy interior. The subtle sweetness of the pork is beautifully complemented by the savory richness of the creamy gravy that blankets it. This isn't just any gravy; it's a velvety smooth concoction, seasoned with just the right amount of salt to enhance the natural flavors of both the pork and the accompanying green beans.

Each bite is a symphony of textures and tastes, a comforting and satisfying experience. Speaking of green beans, these aren't your average, overcooked vegetables. Instead, they retain a delightful crisp-tender bite, offering a refreshing counterpoint to the richness of the pork and gravy.

Their vibrant green color adds a visual appeal to the plate, hinting at the fresh, wholesome flavors within. The green beans have been carefully prepared to maximize their inherent sweetness and subtle vegetal notes, making them a delicious and nutritious addition to the meal. The creamy gravy is the star that binds everything together.

It’s made with a simple roux as a base, ensuring a thick and luxurious texture. The creaminess envelops the pork chop and beans, creating a unified dish that is both comforting and elegant. The saltiness of the gravy is carefully balanced, enhancing the other flavors without overpowering them.

A hint of pepper adds a subtle warmth and depth, making each bite more interesting than the last. This dish is a testament to the fact that simple ingredients, when prepared with care, can create extraordinary flavors. It's a perfect meal for a cozy night, offering a comforting and satisfying experience that warms you from the inside out.

While satisfying on its own, this balanced combination of protein and vegetables leaves you feeling nourished and content. It is a great option for a simple weeknight family dinner.

Instructions

    1.
Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika.
    2.
Heat olive oil in a pan. Place the seasoned pork chops in the oil and cook for about 4 minutes on medium-high heat. Flip the chops over. Add small dollops of butter on top of the cooking pork chops. Squeeze lemon juice into the pan and cook for another 4 minutes until the chops are cooked all the way through.
    3.
Set the pork chops aside to cool, leaving all excess fats in the pan. Melt butter into the pan over low heat. Stir in the cream and whisk until the fats have emulsified.
    4.
Stir salt and xanthan gum into the gravy. Cook on very low heat until the gravy has thickened and absorbed the xanthan. Set the gravy aside to cool.
    5.
In a new pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Place fresh green beans (chopped if desired) in the hot oil. Season with spices. Continually toss the green beans in the oil until they turn bright green, tender, and have browned edges.
    6.
Serve each pork chop with green beans and about ⅓ cup of warm gravy.
