Description

These oven-baked wings offer a delightful balance of sweet and savory flavors, finished with a beautifully caramelized and crisp exterior. The secret lies in the preparation: the wings are first gently cooked to ensure tenderness, then generously coated in a luscious glaze. This glaze, a carefully crafted blend of rich tomato paste, a maple-flavored syrup, and savory tamari sauce, is brightened with a splash of lime juice, aromatic garlic powder, and a hint of sesame oil.

The combination of these ingredients creates a symphony of taste that dances on the palate. As the wings bake, the glaze transforms into a glossy, sticky coating, clinging to every crevice and intensifying the flavors. The maple-flavored syrup infuses a subtle sweetness that complements the umami-rich tamari and the tangy lime, while the garlic powder and sesame oil add depth and complexity.

The result is a truly irresistible dish, perfect as an appetizer, a game-day snack, or even a satisfying main course. The wings boast a satisfyingly crisp skin that gives way to juicy, tender meat. The glaze, with its harmonious blend of sweet, salty, and savory notes, elevates these wings to a whole new level of deliciousness.

Each bite is an explosion of flavor, leaving you wanting more. Feel free to experiment with the level of sweetness to match your preference. The wings are incredibly versatile and adaptable.

Whether you're a fan of bold flavors or prefer something more subtle, these wings can be easily customized to suit your taste. Serve them hot, straight from the oven, and watch them disappear.

Instructions

    1.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly oil a shallow oven tray. Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel. Arrange the chicken wings across the prepared oven tray. Season them with salt and pepper and drizzle with the olive oil. Transfer to the oven to bake for 20 minutes.
    2.
While the wings are cooking, you can prepare the glaze. Add the tomato paste, tamari, syrup, lime juice, garlic powder and sesame oil to a small saucepan. Set over a low heat and stir well to combine, warming through.
    3.
Sprinkle the xanthan gum over the surface of the sauce. Whisk the gum into the sauce for a minute. The sauce should become glossy and thickened.
    4.
Remove the wings from the oven. Brush the glaze evenly and liberally all over the chicken. Return to the oven for a further 10 minutes until golden and caramelized, and the chicken is completely cooked through. Serve with your favorite Keto sides.
