India is likely to have around 20 lakh cancer patients by 2040, MoS in Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh told Rajya Sabha. "We stand at number three, after China and US, as far as cancer's prevalence is concerned," Singh added. He highlighted that cancer and heart ailments, which earlier occurred later in life, are now increasingly affecting younger age groups.
