Don't advertise weight-loss drugs: Govt to pharma firms

CDSCO has issued an advisory warning pharmaceutical companies from advertising about GLP-1 and other prescription weight-loss drugs either directly or indirectly. It said ads that exaggerate therapeutic efficacy, suggest/guarantee weight-loss, downplay lifestyle changes or induce demand for pharmacological therapy, are "misleading". Such ads may invite regulatory action, the drug regulator added.
